Course Overview

Introduction

The Sterilization Sciences Course is designed to enrich participants’ advanced knowledge of decontamination sciences, enhance awareness of international standards, master evolving technologies, and understand best practices for maintaining excellence in Sterile Supply Services.

Course Structure and Schedule

The course comprises 6 modules with 12 hours of contact time for each module. The topics include the following areas:-

  • Module 1: Microbiology, Infection Control and Decontamination

  • Module 2: Decontamination Sciences, Sterile Barrier System, Packing

  • Module 3: Sterilization Sciences, Validation in Steam Sterilization

  • Module 4: Steam Sterilization, Storage and Supply

  • Module 5: Hospital Accreditation, Quality Management System

  • Module 6: Water Quality and Clean Steam for Sterilization

Dates 3rd October 2026 & 10th October 2026 (Saturdays)

Venue Hong Kong Children’s Hospital
Medium of Instruction Cantonese with English
Target Participants Local & mainland nurses, hospital staff, and professionals in the sterilization field
Class Size ~100 participants
CNE Credits 12 CNE Points (Accredited by Nursing Council of Hong Kong)
Award Certificate of Attainment (requires 75% lecture attendance and satisfactory assessment results)

Course Fees & Deadlines

  • HKSSMA Member: HK$2,200

  • Non-Member: HK$3,000

  • Early Bird Deadline: 31st August 2026

  • Late Enrollment Fee (After 31 Aug 2026): HK$3,500

  • Final Registration Closing Date: 30th September 2026

Note: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to applicants who have completed previous modules. Registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.
